BOB DOWDS , Vice-President of Acquisitions

Bob Dowds has been in the planning and development business for nearly 20 years, working both internationally and domestically before returning to his hometown, Visalia.

He began his professional career working with the University of Nations, based in Hawaii, on a development project in Brazil. He then joined a business development group in Washington, D.C., where he was involved in planning and entitlements.

After his father suffered a stroke, Bob returned home to Visalia to help his father with the family business, helping clients ease their projects through City Hall.

He then began his own company in 1996, Dowds Consulting. He worked with developers on a variety of projects locally including the South Packwood Creek shopping center and the Sierra Village residential development.

Bob joined Andy’s team in 2001, assisting with city planning, entitlements, coordinating design, reviewing and coordinating environmental and overseeing the city review process.

During his career, Bob has been involved in the development of 15,000 single-family home lots and the masterplanning of several large developments. The newest project is Lowery Ranch, a 560-acre, mixed-used masterplanned community that will offer various types of housing and commercial development.
